Ya see? That X3 is the perfect height to blind you and the owners fit even brighter bulbs just to make sure of it.

Do they look like the ones in the picture? There doesn't appear to be any ballast on them and no heatsink either. I'd be very wary about plugging them back in again, the Philips bulbs look like this -

Really don't see the point of your post, part from to troll? There are vehicles higher than mine including vans and lorries.

I live next to a farm in a very rural location, so having the X3 is very useful especially in the bad weather we have been having recently.

Nothing wrong with the light pattern on the Philips bulbs, the have been designed to work correctly with the proper beam pattern and cut-off on older halogen equipped vehicles. The same can't be said for cheap unbranded bulbs from China (sorry Stuart!).

I still get dazzled in the X3, sometimes because the oncoming vehicle is driving up an incline, sometimes possibly cheap chinese bulbs, incorrectly fitted bulbs, etc etc.

Correctly designed and fitted bulbs should be less of a problem, but yes some of them are brighter.

They are alleged plug and play and I invested £17 to try them out. Here is what the vendor lists:

Lovely 125 mile round trip in the Galloway hills and across the border into East Ayrshire, West Ayrshire and then South Ayrshire (in quick succession) today. Had coffee and cake on the way (as you do). Roads were pretty quiet and the 944 ran beautifully. There's Whit3knight probably champing at the bit to get his Turbo back on the road(?).
I did say to her when replacing the servo 'I want some payback after all the time, money, effort, blood, sweat and tears I have put in to you'. When they run well, they put such a smile on your face, when they misbehave, they are a pig.
Spent 4 hours rattle finding yesterday. I have yet to eliminate all of them (and doubt I ever will) but I made some improvements.

Very good to hear, sounds a lovely trip. We did 900 miles in mine in September on a week long road trip, 7 different overnights, down the west coast, across the Yorkshire Moors and back home up the east coast. The car was great and in its element. Miles of smiles!

Spent a couple of hours destroying wire brushes in the name of cleaning up the transaxle - can’t believe how much crud is caked on it!

Are you running the stock headlight wiring loom or do you have an aftermarket separate jobbie fitted?
My understanding - & I am more than happy to be corrected/educated on this, is that these offer a better current flow hence more oomph to the light source, increasing brightness. I have a set of Osram Night breakers to fit as as well as the aforementioned lighting loom as part of my improvements/mods plan. However, I may ditch the night breakers and go with the LED's that you have fitted...'''

I have replaced my Osram night breakers with these LED lights - with no additional loom. Which, despite that, is one helluva improvement. You may go one better...

Surely measure amps at the 3 pin bulb socket and then decide if this extra loom is worth fitting*?
The bit I don't understand is that unless you replace the wiring for the headlights all the way to the fuse box and all the way to the switch, what does the adapter kit provide?

*Something I actually didn't do and in retrospect, probably should have but the result is good enough for me.

Anyway, had a super drive on empty roads today. Our weather in this little corner of the world was not too bad. I drove 35 miles North and it was a completely different picture. So I drove back.
To try and fill the current void, I decided to remove the rear lights and clean them up but... I think they have been put in with something like Tiger seal by some PO and won't budge. Damn. I'll probably have to wreck them to get them out.

Ordered complete hose set and another all alu radiator. My radiator (of almost 8 years) which was identical and one of the first jobs I did on the Porsche (when I discovered the price of new OEM radiators) got holed by a stone twice. Twice I filled it with solder but on both occasions, used Rad weld to get me home. This I know will have clogged up the matrix a little so I thought I would get another one.

Despite this (and proper functioning gauge/sensors), the temp. sits steady between the 2nd and 3rd mark. However, it might ne a different story in summer.
