I sold my 944 Lux to a nice gent from Scotland last Sat who travelled all the way down from Aberdeen to south Hampshire to pick it up!
I have no plans to buy another so cheerio to you all and thanks for your help during my ownership of my 944 as it did present some problems over the 3 years I owned it.
The rotten starting was totally cured by either replacing the air bypass hose (under the inlet manifold) or the blue cold start sensor (with a Land Rover one). I don't know what one was responsible but when I sold it it would start easily just by leaning in and turning the key with no throttle and it would burble away.

Pulled '44 out of hibernation; oil & filter, rear shocks and a driveshaft fitted, MOT passed with no advisories, insured, taxed, Humber Bridge car-show attended... pub tea. :D

Took it out tonight and finished off that tank of fuel. Feel like I've got my mojo back for the thing...

I've had my S2 for nearly 2 years and it's always behaved itself impeccably.

Last week I was due to take my daughter out for the day and it wouldn't start. Turning over fine but not starting, nothing obviously wrong but once the battery was down on power & it hadn't started we switched to the Fiat 500 for the day.

Spent the weekend trawling threads on non starting Porsches, checking Clarke's guide and so on to work out a plan of action. Decided to order a spark plug tester & a DME relay for starters and did this today. Went out with my plan to identify where all the relevant bits to check were located.

Found the air flow meter & it's connection, fuel pressure regulator & the vacuum pipework, distributor cap & leads, DME relay and so on, obviously giving any connections a wiggle as you do, pulled the DME & re-seated it. Satisfied I knew where everything was & ready to start trouble-shooting whenever my goodies arrived, I pushed the car back into the garage.

Thought I'd just give it a spin over, reasoning I'd have time to recharge the battery before the spares arrived and what happens?

Starts first time, less time turning over than ever before!

I suspect I'll never understand cars any more than I understand the opposite sex! It lives though!

After 9 years ownership, I sold mine today. :(
Enjoyed the time when I've driven it but that time was becoming limited.

Gone but not forgotten

Bye for now.

Caught the batwing on a kerb whilst reversing... Pulled it off it's mounts and pulled the wing to PU mount down very slightly   :x so it'll be batwing off, fibre glass on and some hammering of the wing to front PU mount.

In the words of Captain Darling.... My initial note simply said "Bugger"....

Since replacing the rear wheel bearings and getting a few hundred miles on the car I'd noticed the handbrake was pulling up further than it used to so spent yesterday morning adjusting the rear brakes and giving the front calipers a strip down, clean and refit.

With a disapproving look from my wife complete with a subtle reminder that family are on the way and I need to be there I managed to squeeze a 20 minutes’ drive in and the brakes were noticeably improved!

Fitted a pair of struts on the tailgate so it actually lifts itself now. Found out why you should make sure you push it down properly on way home. Air brake anyone?

Then realised that the oil puddle that was under my engine from when the clutch slave cylinder failed has gotten bigger and is fresh, another thing to sort :(

And stuck my little Porsche badge back onto the key after it fell off my 2nd one but at least i noticed and picked it up this time.

Took mine to the Cheshire & Staffs Tipec meet near Knutsford - a great crowd and a couple of other 968's were there as well :)

Great to see Dave and Matt there with their cars!

Shampoo of the carpets/seats and they have come up looking splendid. Actually slight fib there, Mrs KennyP shampooed them

Always amazed when 27 year old stuff that is so light in colour (linen leather) comes up so beautifully. They don't make 'em like that
anymore etc....

Must be show season with all this cleaning, shampooing and tidying up! Nice work KennyP :)

She had a full valet ahead of Tatton this weekend :) and then my mate drove her away as he's taking her on Saturday and I'll be in the Rothmans. This is the first time I've ever seen her driven by someone else...strange feeling :?

New Battery fitted now, it's not good to be on 1st name terms with the AA man because you call them out to start the car whenever you want to go for a drive.

I did a quick 'around the local hills' drive last week end - sunny day - no traffic - next time will post a pic...

A while ago, I fitted Kyle's 'only944' rear light mod - quite impressive -
