I hope it is. I don't have the heat shield on nor do I have the pump/filter housing nor the exhaust or the drive shafts.

Been wrestling with the steering rack and steering column today.. Was hoping to fit the front anti-roll bar but didn't get that far. (I'm a poet and I don't know it).

This is what it looked like before...

Tomorrow: anti-roll bar and some bits and after that... a wait.

You have been busy! I've not been on the forum for a few days and missed your post asking for some help - apologies. Been busy with work strangely and then been doing some prep work on parts.
All looking very nice - shame about the issue but I guess we have to expect it with the age of these cars. Turn key moment over the weekend perhaps if all goes well?

The high pressure hose, which is the front one in your picture sprang a leak on my car, just where the big rubber ring is, there is a joint inside the rubber sleeve that you can’t see,

Porsche want nearly £400 for that hose, I got one from power steering services £90, now my steering is light and full of feel, and the dam groan has gone

On account of the public holiday and no post, I took a daft notion. I only wanted to take the screen wash bottle out and clean it up...



A pile of rusty old spire nuts, some bumper black paint and a bit of a fiddle later...





Although i'll have to improvise some rubber on the end of the bump stop bolt too.

Incidentally, those adjusters get rusty and I stumbled on a solution.
Take a 10mm self tapping flange nut* and shave two sides off.

Like the one on the right:



...and it fits perfectly in here:



*Those wheel arch flange nuts are ace. They self tap. Unlike the genuine Porsche one's, they don't cost an arm and a leg. Therefore, you can buy a dozen, either with large flange or small flange and when they wear out, chuck 'em.
And the self tapping nature of them is that they are tight on worn old screw type fixings in the wheel arch for example.

For what it is, yes.
I may call around breakers and see if I can find one that is at least, complete.
I managed to repair mine and spray it matt black, which doesn't look too shabby but i'd like to improve on it.

Incidentally, can you work out of there is a difference between the steering column heat shield on the S2 and the later 944 please? Like wot H fitted.
I think the early 944's had a simpler shape.

I have come up with 3 different part numbers.

the one H fitted is the one over the top of the oil filter housing,

there is a heat shield at the bottom as well,

for engine 4411/4412 the filter housing shield is 944.107.053.02 NLA
for engine 4452 951.107.053.01 @ £81.42
for engine 4441 944 107 053 04 @ £126.65

there is also a shield that locates on the cross member for the bottom joint of the column

952 341 108 02 £17.76

there is a heat shield at the bottom as well,
for engine 4441 944 107 053 04 @ £126.65

I replaced that to my S2 cab a few years ago (it was cracked an ratling like ball bearings in a tumble dryer)

My knuckles hurt now just thinking about it.
