Lots of Autumn work going on with the old girl right now, we suspected a weeping head gasket after having replaced the oil cooler seals and still getting a tiny amount of oil in the water, so Rotted head gasket it was, new headgasket, tiny head skim to loose the little surface corrosion, new water fittings, elbows and hoses, gearbox seals inc selector seals, CV joints re packed, new gearbox oil, new Sachs Clutch as that was getting a little high and its rude not to when the box is out, still on its original rubber centre clutch !, wheel bearings on all corners, new Boge front Inserts as the old ones had slight horizontal play, rear brake hoses, All belts replaced, New front wishbones and ball joints with powerflex bushes for the whole front end (easier to replace with new than refurb the old wishbones !)

Oh and a VEMS ecu etc

Should be like a new car when i get it back :bounce: Thanks to County Classics in Horsemonden Kent.

 That photo is exaggerated by the bump which has thrown the back in the air with a bit of braking. Although the 996 brakes seem loads better than the 986 callipers I had before.

A dead messy oil change, about 700ml ended up on the drive. I was using the ever-trusty Mann Filter, but now on genuine Porsche; you can't prime them with oil prior to fitting so i'm hoping less will come out next change. Fuchs semi 10w40 for anyone who's interested.

Charged the battery in the 968 to fire her up again tomorrow to investigate the rough idle from cold.... then went to see another 944 Cab with a mate who's looking to buy one and then took my 944 Cab for a drink of Tesco finest..... :)

Fixed my passenger side door handle which decided to give up the ghost. It is by far me least favourite 944 job. Then changed my fuel filter which made a noticeable difference!

Took the 924 to Silverstone as part of the Pistonheads sunday service to represent the transaxle models (only one there) and also bought it a new stable mate in the form of a 2009 M Sport 3 series. Lets hope we dont have a load of snow this winter or I'm going to be a bit stuck with 2 rear wheel drive cars

Queen wasp woke up and started flying round the cabin today, anyone know how they get in? Used to get about 3 a year in the old Volvo 240 until i taped up a vent under the rear screen.

BMW will absolutely need winter tyres if you want any traction at all on the white stuff. Run flats are useless.

Started to remove the ICV on the 968 to rectify the lumpy idle but can't for the life of me get these Porsche clips off the hoses.... Any ideas on how best to remove them?

Took the Rothmans out on the Tipec drive out round the Peak District and Derbyshire... Great driving roads despite some fog on higher ground.
