Well, due to an IT cock up at reading, Porsche Brooklands orders didn't get accepted mum the ordering system.
So my parts not coming until tomorrow.
Wonderful !
So I have cancelled tomorrow mornings clients, hopefully the car will be ready by lunchtime as that's when we head down to Beaulieu

Took her to the Tatton Park Classic Car Show yesterday... She certainly turned heads on the Tipec stand and we were right next to Porsche Club GB....

In addition, the Tipec stand won a Highly Commended trophy for Best Club Display :D with 19 cars, it was well deserved!

Cheers Tim :) We had help from NW Region as well!

Wish I could get up there but calliper still not 100% :( parts have arrived from WPO so full rebuild is underway along with a full bleed of the brake system with fresh fluid. May strip the master cylinder if I get chance as a just in case but as all other corners are fine it may just be the lines to O/S Front...

Say hello to folks at the Boatyard :)

Not much on the 968 :( just a bit of fettling parts ready to go back on and a bit of Deox on the rear torsion beam ready for paint.

For the 924, the brake fluid was looking decidedly past it so a full change was in order but as ever the Whole Hog was breathing down my neck saying "do it, do it" - master cylinder off for an overhaul and a clean up.....

This was full of crud floating around in it - cleaned the inside as best as I can but there are baffles inside that are well.... baffling!

This on the other hand is coming up a treat :D and will be back on in the morning :) :) :)

Up early this morning to refit the 924's master cylinder and bleed the brakes :D

The refit went very smoothly indeed

But bleeding the brakes saw some real crap coming out of the lines - this was well over due!!

Nice clean fluid now :)

On the 968, now that the metal treatment and under seal are all dry top coat of paint applied... OK its not a factory finish and it needs another coat yet, but its hidden behind the torsion beam and isn't going to be visible and it doesn't need to win any awards - just needs to keep the water out and metal in!

Collecting my other bits later that have been blasted and powder coated :D :D :D

Powder coaters were shut :( so went to collect a few bits from Mr Broadsider off the 924 forum this afternoon...

I then took The 924 to Ikea... Woman behind the collection desk said "you won't get them in that car though" my reply, "you wanna bet?"

I painted the brake calipers on my S2 with Foliatech caliper paint. Its a 2 pack epoxy paint.
I applied the first coat and it didn't look good, translucent and patch - oh bu@@er this will be hard to get off again
Put the second coat on - wow! they look like new. I put three coats on in the end just to be sure as you get loads of paint.
Just checked them this morning - lovely red colour and very shiny, just like the pics on the website

Busy week/weekend on the 944. New engine mounts fitted, replace all front antiroll bar bushes, repainted ARB and painted shock absorber casing.

Loads of bits ordered from OPC Tonbridge to replace worn or rusted parts. Fantastic service from their parts dept and I've been very pleasantly surprised at the availability and prices from them

Small job, but finally got the tools to remove the sony head unit and plugged the speakers into the right channels. With channels and phase now correct music actually sounds good! Well... decent.... better than before... :bounce:

Edit: Also have a new dash-mascot :D Unfortunately not a 944.

Got my refurbished AFM back from ATP. looks brand new. Checked, repaired, refurbished all for £170 +vat +carriage. The Scivision/Promax MAF works ok when its warm but cold days give poor running (feels lean) until the engine has warmed up and on WOT it is obviously rich (you can see black smoke from the rear view mirror). Can't say I have noticed a great difference in performance. I intend to do a back to back on the track as it's only a few minutes to swap them round.

Obviously the S2 is different from the turbo but my car runs perfectly with a SciVision set up. I have had some issues but they were wiring related (mainly around the connector on the loom that plugs in to the AFM) rather than anything to do with the SciVision. Car runs perfect hot or cold and breathes better than with standard AFM. AFR's are all spot on hot or cold, idle or WOT etc.
