MoT is a pipe dream at the minute - its due on the 7th of May but having alleviated the car of the Tip 'box this afternoon on a refresh that started out with just Fuel Lines, the MoT can wait a few weeks.... It should not be a case of get the enw bits and put it all back together - in theory  have updated todays adventures in the fuel lines thread :)

Noticed my door cards were absolutely destroyed when removing them to help fit my door handles back on. Decided it would be a perfect opportunity to make some RS style ones. 'Borrowed' some thin ply from work and hacked them up today. Need to order foam and some alcantara. And a door pull in fact. Cost so far £0.

If anyone is interested i'll do a write up once they are finished. I've taken enough photos to explain everything so dont mind making a How-to :)

At last I have one corner back on the car, re-sealed and painted caliper, orange braided hose, Spax adjustable shocker, new brake pipe (with clear sheathing) and refurbished discs. Three more corners to go and I can drive it out the garage for the first time in 5 months. :bounce:

Gorgeous! Nice job.

Pulled the near side drive shaft and regressed the CVs. Messy messy job. :D

It was MOT today for the 944S. It passed - no advisories... :bounce:

Had a bit of a hiccup over the emissions test, the operator dialled-in a cat test - it didn't pass that - 'cos it hasn't got one! When I mentioned that my car was not fitted with a cat, he selected an appropriate test and it was fine - more happy days :D.

I have a feeling it will be a while before my 924S project sees the inside of an MOT bay!

Took delivery of loads more spares for the 924S..getting a right nice 'stash' now of lovely new parts.

I replaced the NS rear wheel bearing, and it was totally worn out the one that came out sounded like lonnie donegans washboard

Bit of a stress full job those hub nuts are very very tight, new bearing was advertised for an Alko trailer on eBay not for a car so the pair cost me £38

Borrowed the Arnworx tool from someone on here and a 500nm battery powered impact gun made the job a lot easier

My brake vibration has now gone and it's a lot quieter on the move, I'm going to do the other side next, and now considering doing the fronts as well, think all our cars at 140k would benefit from new bearings

I had a free inspection performed at JMG Porsche in Wimbourne.
A long list of items that need attention - but hope that Jon can work some magic. I am going to have to start getting my hands dirty very soon!

Second wheel bearing replaced today, took the drive shaft off and just spun the hub with the disk removed, sounded like a cement mixer full of bricks, but no play at all

The car is so much quieter on the road, it's like a different car

Thanks to a member on here for the loan of the tools, they are on the way back
