Well over the course of the past 6 months ive given a few of my VW friends the P bug. This week one of them fell ill and bought 944 S2 Drop head.
Yes, and he finally got around to signing up for TIPEC today... so that's one thing I did, but first I had a bit of a tinker and clean with the Cab... Not a bad bit of progress actually (and I might get around to doing a "hello, this is me" thread for some context), as I stripped the passenger door down, replaced the central locking actuator, greased the lock mech window mech and runners before cleaning the stripped door card and building it all back up before moving onto the driver's door. That one required the LED door pin rebuilding and the same cleaning process as the passenger (amazing what 22 years of door bin crud looks like...)
A good hoover out followed and a bit of topical carpet shampoo application to remove some dark marks. All the nooks and corners were cleaned and plastic trim mopped over. Looked much better.
Next up was the binnacle... that's been bugging me as the tripmeter didn't reset, the binnacle plastic was scratched and the lighting was woeful. Stripped the lot down and started by polishing the binnacle screen to get the worst of the previous two decades of scratching out. While it was in bits I popped the clocks out before re-foiling the reflectors for the illumination and applying a little WD-40 into the trip reset mech.

Didn't take too long to reassemble, and then the heavens opened... so I came in and signed up for TIPEC
