All Torque 83 - August 2010

Post by poprock »

Stop checking your doormats, the magazine’s a little behind schedule this month.

It’s due to be mailed out on Thursday, so hopefully most people will get theirs Friday/Saturday.

I hope it’s worth the wait and you all enjoy it!

Yup mine arrived this Sat morning. You'll find it's well worth waiting for Jim - a really good read as ever.

Paul B's account of the BBQ evening hosted by DAM Creative for Central brought back memories of a marvellous evening.

Good to see a write-up of your 44 Tony - was intrigued by the "gills" on the wings as soon as I turned to this page so the main photo was a great attention getter.

Thanks for including my 928 fuel filter write-up, which sits well with the 944 clutch feature opposite as a front-engined maintenance themed spread (and the house caption style reinforces this, as you suggested when we discussed my crude efforts at annotating pics).

Looking forward to settling down with coffee and the mag later today to read the whole thing in detail.

At least you won't be bored when it is pi**ing down with rain, like it is in Lanark right now.

I think ROs are supposed to get extra copies, so they have some to put out at events etc … you’re probably still on the RO list until the next one comes round!

(See, there was a perk to all that hard work.)

I know it was maybe a bit odd to put the same photo on the cover and the middle page spread, but it was just such a great image! Phil Jones outdid himself with that one. Phil always photographs the Festival of Speed for us, and that’s a lovely shot of a rarely-seen car. If anyone wants to learn a bit more about the 550 Coupe, Porsche posted a video about taking it to Goodwood on their (very nice) Origin website: http://origin.porsche.com/uk/videos/por ... t-goodwood

That'll be it Tony, but I am still waiting for my RO copies :(
Fortunately, I got my member's copy so I do have something to read. Been out all day, so only just picked it up off the mat - looking good so far!!

My 3 RO copies arrived today which is good. I could do with 2 x 3 though as they get given out quickly. I'm off to the US this weekend & I'll need some copies to take with me. More info on that in a new thread.
