Shrinking the file size of a picture for an Avatar - How?

OK, computer lesson 101 in shrinking a picture from 1,182KB to 98KB. Will someone please tell me how?

Do you have an Image tab in you photo manager?
If you do click on resize and adjust the pixel size. Then save as a seperate file or you'll lose the clarity of the original pic.
Failing that email me the pic and I can do it this end and load it up for you.

Failing that download(free) Irfanview this has a utility called resize/resample. Download
http://www.irfanview.com, open the program, using open pick a photo, then click image on the top taskbar, choose resize/resample and a page comes up giving different sizes, Choose the size you require

Thanks guys. Managed it in the end as you can see. Nice new shiny fan & fan housing
