I wondered if anyone had one surplus and in decent running condition? There's a couple on ebay but they looked very ropey.
Drop me a line if you have. Thanks

Seized it seems. It probably is fixable but possibly more cost effective to change it rather than have it in twice as I won't be doing it!
But I'll bear that in mind.

Re: 5 blade cooling fan
how to fix
Take the blades off,
then tap the tags back with a punch, knock the roll pin out under the fan,
pop the front off saving the thrust washer,
then push all the internals out the rear, you can then lube up the rear bearing and check the front one, clean all the crap out, polish up the commutator, and clean the gap between the contacts
then reassemble

sounds loud as its not towing a five blade fan for resistance, this was a stiff fan I already had but not got round to looking at it

Re: 5 blade cooling fan
Thanks. I'd found those but they look, as you say, all of their years old.
I've sourced a spare pair and some other bits so sorted now. But I might have a play with the old one with your instructions.
Thanks
