Goodwood FoS - Some Porsches

Thursday, 9am and after a three hour drive a queue of people about a quarter of a mile long was not a welcome sight. Knowing almost exactly how many spectators would be attending but checking their documents two at a time was obviously organised by someone severely mathematically challenged. Luckily we knew of another access point and this only involved a fifteen minute wait, although after the repeated emails stressing the need for a Covid pass and photo ID it turned out that the latter was not required and anything with a QR code on it would have been acceptable as it was not checked or scanned.

The event remains hugely popular (was attendance really reduced this year?), perhaps because it continues to become ever more brash and showy. For those of us who go to see old and interesting racing cars and to meet people (some also old and interesting) there is still much to be found, but I can’t help feeling that the historical aspect is gradually becoming a support act for the contemporary headliners and the corporate presence. I might just be getting old though! Anyway, here are some of the Porsches and Porsche-related things that caught my eye.
