Fellow 928 Owners,
I'm exploring the possibility of commissioning a modern version of the unloved (it seems) slotted flat wheels. I happen to think they really suit the car, however I have found a company in Canada https://www.augmentwheels.com that specialise in taking the original design and redesigning them in 17" 18" and beyond. They have already worked their magic on the telidial and D90, however no-one has pulled the trigger on the good old flat slotted wheel. I would attach photos, however whatever I do with the file size this forum tells me its too large ??
Anyway, comments or observations would be welcome before I take this idea any further. They are fully aware of offset issues and have been building wheels for porsche customers for many years.
Regards
Howard

Re: Reimagined Flat slotted Wheels
That sounds really interesting! I suppose what it ultimately comes down to is the price? I like the idea of having those in a 'modern' size which one can easily get tyres for though...

Re: Reimagined Flat slotted Wheels
Hi
They have waived the fee for commissioning/designing as there is likely to be sufficient interest commercially from the wider Porsche community. The cost is in CAD $ - based on 17 -19 " wheel size
CAD $999 per wheel - Shipping CAD $850 - HS Import duty = VAT UK @ 20% -Total Circa £3300 give or take exchange rate. So not outrageous given they will be recreating and modernising to reflect todays tyre sizes.
Just going through the commissioning phase to nail down the design before they pull the trigger and manufacture. There is a really good picture on their website of a 928 sitting on 17" D90s, it looks stock but in a modern way that not immediately obvious. As I said uploading a picture seems to be problematic, however that is more down to me being hopeless..!
Thanks for the interest .. will keep posted for those interested.
