Hi all.
Since I was a teenager - I've always desired a 911 and now knocking on a not too distant door with a 60 on it - perhaps now is the time to scratch the itch.
Through a series of coincidences, I have the opportunity of a 2005 996 Turbo S with just over 70K on the clock and in good all round condition.
What money should this be fetching and what should I be looking for as a buyer?
Thanks
Barry

Cracking car the Turbo S.
The most important thing to check is that it is one of the factory built Turbo S which came with a raft of options at the end of the 996 run in 2005.
Check the usual consumables, discs etc. The bills for a TT are steep. Suspension creaks are usually top mounts or coffin arms.

Re: 996 Turbo info required please
Thanks Sean.
It is a proper factory built Turbo S - mid 2005 with the X50 pack and was a Porsche company car originally.
It looks good and appears to all be in order, after having both turbos replaced 4000 miles ago. Owned by a collector, so only done 1100 miles in last three years.
Many thanks for your message - as I value your opinion.

Hi Sam.
I don't know why the turbo's were replaced, but it must have needed the work. It was carried out somewhere on the south coast.
As it is - the original intended buyer scrapped the money together at the last minute - so I'm out of the picture, sadly.
Missed opportunity..but that's life!

Re: 996 Turbo info required please
Sorry you missed the car................may have been a blessing in disguise, a big risk buying a car like that without chapter and verse on the history, they are a great car, and valuable too, but on the other hand very costly if there are major issues...............in fact not that major to cost a packet. I wouldn't have expected to change both the turbo's at circa K60 miles, he may have just been upgrading them but you would need to know all that stuff if you were parting with your hard earned?

Thanks - I was gutted to be honest.
The car was mint and had been very well cared for with good history.

Plenty of TT’s to look at, 997’s are good value as well
