It looks like some previous cleaning work done to the 997 has used a very oily shiny coating on the leather and I want to try to take the shine away and bring it back to a more natural look.
does anyone know of any products that do this job?

Warm water with a tiny bit of stardrops works like a charm!

A wet leather cleaner works, one that you have to dilute and use a strong brush to scrub it clean.
Then a leather balm to nourish and give you that leather smell.

Re: Removing Sheen from leather
ive bought the autoglym leather cleaning kit as results look good on you tube, ive yet to decide whether i want to use the protection layer in case it goes too shiny. the leather is actually in very good condition in most areas, just a couple of places where its gone greasy and after seeing a 997 with much less shiny leather i wanted to try to return mine to that look.
A nice job for a sunny afternoon in the spring!

Re: Removing Sheen from leather
this is what i bought, not too expensive although more expensive than most of the ideas on you tube
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MSYLF07/ ... UTF8&psc=1
I believe most were recommending laundry detergent diluted.
this is for a once over restore clean as opposed to something i want to do regularly.
