Wanted - hatch pin base

Post by caprixpack »

Does anyone have one or a pair of these or the 924 style. Pins aren't necessary as I have a new set.

They're about £40 each from OPC. I wouldn't bother trying to force the pins to unscrew as they're usually rusted solid. I had to cut through the pin with a hacksaw and replace the square rubber with the nut in it, they're £7 each from OPC. Unfortunately what looks like a cheap fix with £3.50 pins gets quite expensive, quite quickly.

What happened was I was trying to replace the old worn pins. But while trying to undo the 2 screws that hold the base in place, one rounded out. So while trying to drill the rounded out screw I noticed a crack in the base and a quick tap with the rubber mallet confirmed it was broken.

I had already anticipated the failure of one or more of the screws, and I already had a new set to replace.
