Exhaust Advice

Post by Rob996 »

Hi All,
After a new exhaust as back box's have started blowing on the seams, but I want something a bit sporty but also don't want it to wake up the neighbours or drone on the motorway, ideally I want something that does not come alive until 4K rpm.

Car is 996 3.4 C4 Tip.

There are plenty of options from Design 911, Porscheshop, and Local to me is Infinity, but interested to see what people have installed?

thanks
Rob

Probably need a switchable exhaust, otherwise maybe too loud & intrusive on a long journey.

I fitted Innotek switchable back boxes. Stainless steel & sounds awesome as & when want.

IPE valvetronic exhaust
Now with rebuilt engine complete, so must try warp speed more often...

I have read many threads on this and I would look into;

Topgear - switchable and non-switchable available.

Dansk - Seems to be a good all round system with a happy medium of noise.

More info and help available on 911uk.com

Dansk after-sales care very, very poor.

TopGear stellar; even looked after a (neglected) Dansk customer!

I recently bought my 996, which is fitted with a Eurocup stainless system. The sound is great, it doesn't drone and isn't too loud on start up etc. But I agree with the comment above, that a switchable system is probably most effective for you.
