This is a quirky car that I have always had an itch for...now some 15 years latter or so the itch is scratched!!

'Until recently' - you are not wrong! A few years ago I could have bought a 914 like this one for maybe 3.5k!! Certainly being appreciated more these days and therefore appreciating significantly in value!!
Really hard to get an agreed value for insurance on these cars...
