Old Tax Disc

Post by Pete G »

Hi,

Got my tax disc today, a bit out of date!!!! but it looks the part :D

If you are thinking of getting a replica tax disc now you don’t need to display a current disc, I can highly recommend Creative tax discs. I placed my order on Monday night and it arrived today and its very good quality. I went for the deluxe one and got the stamp with the date the car was first register and the town.

I had one of these as a birthday present in January, just got to wait for February so as I can display once the current disc runs out.
They are very good

You can put it in now. As of October 1st 2014 the colourful paper circles are no longer being issued and the requirement for motorists to display them in their cars ends.

No doubt chaos will be here for a few months whilst people figure it out. DVLA are currently struggling to cope with enquiries!!

Just to eer on the side of caution you could always place said disc in your glove box.

Yep you don't have to display a tax disc in the window even if it is still in date, you could always put the old Guinness label in :D

Am I missing something? Why would you want to display an out of date tax disc? If you want people to know the age of your car, I'd guess those that are interested would be bright enough to suss the age from the registration number, because if you're bothered about originality and being proud of your old car, you'd have an age related plate, no?

It looks like you are and some of us do have age related but relevant to the model plates. :)

Might have to get me one of those. Does anybody have their first genuine issued tax disc?
