Thinking of buying a 1987 - 911

Post by t5_monkey »

Hi Guys,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1987-Porsche- ... 939wt_1396

Thinking about this car - can you let me know what I need to look out for and is the price reasonable?

Also... in terms of getting it inspected, anything that is expensive to fix that can be checked prior to purchase?

All info and feedback appreciated.

Thanks!

Looks very tired to me.

He has either bought it and realised how much to fix, or he bought it for buttons to move on. I suspect the latter looking at the number of photo's he has taken.

On a 911 rust is very bad news and not cheap to sort out. The Targa is noisy because the seals are shot.

As Sean says, its looking a bit tired, there is a lot of minor looking corrosion, which will probably turn out a lot worse, especially that large blister above the rubber on the sill cover, thats where the kidney bowls are, ££££s to replace and you'll find that the sills will be rusty as well when you get in there
