Pictures of your 928

Post by Lee 944 »

Having been inspired by the Tilford pictures posted by Andrew, I have realised that there is no picture thread on this section of the forum. I've check and most other sections have a "post your pride and joy here" type thread. So here goes, everyone has seen mine.

...., thank,s Lee, pics were taken last year, just after I fitted the rear US spec bumperretes, strange.., I used to dislike them a few years ago, but then decided to fit them as they break up the wide gap between the smaller lights of the earlier cars., and give a "chunky" look.
Currently I,m waiting for a sunroof deflector to arrive (ebay) been after one for many years, finally sourced one.., needs a bit of tlc, but I like that ?,

Incidentally, and if at all possible, I would be most grateful if someone could post a pic showing their deflector up close and personal, just to get an idea of the detail etc ?

Cheer,s

..... thank you Adrian, some really nice cars on here ! and thanks for the pic offer, The deflector arrived today and it,s in very good condition, other than the elongated hole that attaches to the left hand deflector mount, It,s sort of a " C " instead of a complete oval, what,s happened is that the ends of these are dipped in a hot black plastic and the water gets inbetween and rots out the elongated hole, Iv,e made a small piece of metal exactly the same as the other end of the good one, and hopefully a friend of mine can braze it on to form a new hole. Well that,s the plan I think.

Cleaned all the crud of the lift arms and gave them a coat of silver cellulose , very thin coat, and left the end to be repaired, in bare metal. The two hinge pins were in good nick I just scotch brited them and a thin coat of black celly

Thanks again..,
Ken

Very nice Steve, the car looks great. I can't believe it is nearly a year, did you ever find a family member buy that reg' off you?

Hi Lee

Thanks & yes its almost exactly a year since taking ownership. She looks a lot better than when I got her. but still lots to do to get her to where I would like her to be.
fors fo the number plate - kept it for now.....no takers! LOL

Glad to see your 928 up & running around. Gosh, doesn't a lot happen in a year & doesn't it go fast.

Steve

"A Porsche 928 gives you a sense of being someone special, you drive as if you have to live up to the car. Your temper improves miraculously; if anyone overtakes you or cuts you up, it's because you have given them permission to do so, or because they are suicidal, not because their cars are more powerful or their driving more skilful!
