My 3.2 supersport had been sat for about 18 months took it for MOT this week ran fine until mid way through mot went to restart and it wouldnt fire.
Done various checks and changed DME Relay and now dont have any ideas.
It will start fine when cold and would run all day perfectly but if you stop and try restarting when the engine is hot it has no spark at the coil.
Please help as i have no idea!!

Re: 3.2 No Spark When Engines Hot
Hi,
Sorry to hear of your dilemma
I had a similar symptom on another car. That turned out to be the signal amplifier and the distributor. The signal amplifier which is attached to the distributor takes low volts and cranks it up so the spark plugs can do their magic. The coil could also be a culprit but I would be more swayed to the Distributor and amplifier personally. Coils seldom fail.
I assume the car starts fine when cold? If this is the case then Dizzy and amplifier would be my first port of call.
Hope it works out for you. But at least it's a start and you can discount it, if it's not the case. I'm not aware of any test that can be done to validate. But, I assume you've removed a plug and earthed it against the engine casing to check there is no spark. Other areas are Starter, Alternator (again I would think unlikely!).
