I took mine for a service at a well known independent Porsche specialist down south (name withheld so as not to advertise). The people were really friendly and the local town of Christchurch is quaint and a nice place to spend a few hours walking around while your car is being serviced (lots of history, coffee shops and cafés). Just don't try buying a house unless you've got very deep pockets.

I even met 'The man' himself! I didn't see his office chair so can't confirm the rumour that he's installed a turbo charger to it.

Could have waited till the decorators finished the outside of the building and roof! :D

Crazy house prices around here, really need half a million to get a basic 3 bed family house, a quarter of a million will get you a 2 bed flat or 2 bed terraced house with zero garden (and I mean zero)

Was lovely to see you and your 968 (which is under strict instructions that it is to behave for another year!)

See ya at the Tipec fun day later this summer!

I dismantled my old crashed passenger door, ready to be re-fitted to the new door.

I also had a poke around with a screwdriver in the rear passenger side inner wing and found a few rusty spots, one of them looks a bit nasty, think I caught it just in time!

Oh and I also did a bit of prep work to my door card, which dirty-hands helped fix for me before Hatton. :)

Hello! Well, the door is currently on the vehicle without glass/door panel..inner bits etc but it is masked up as it's being primed and sprayed, so I have to wait for that to be finished before I can get to the door. I just hope I can remember where things go  I'm sure it'll be OK! Door card is looking good by the way, looking forward to putting that back on - although I've realised the previous owner screwed through the leather at the bottom to secure it directly to the door (as the card had disintegrated, as you know!! :) ), so that doesn't look too pleasant but I'll have to think of something to fix that, maybe some small cream plugs or something.

How is the 928? Did you get the bumper fixed up yet?

Thanku for your help once again! :) Hope we can get some more Hatton weather soon!

Well done, it takes courage to take on repairs after an accident, but keep a logical approach and you will be just fine!

If you are not sure where anything goes, post it on here and you will have the answer in no time at all.

Fitted my old head unit today, but left the cage in the car. Used the stero from the passengers floor. All was fine however once the cage was fitted, the speedo would stop as soon as noise came from stero, was fine with it on. ?? The wiring hadn't changed. Ended up cutting one off the wires I had joined and all is fine.

Did a few other jobs today.
Replace sunviser clips and my other ones were less sun kissed.
Replace the rubber around the hacth pins.
Replaced the head lights with some halfords blubs.
Replaced the fog light, ( lights came out with no issue no rust screw heads! )
Swapped over the front clear lennses and side repetors.
De wiped the rear hacth.

And popped 2 spray shop 2 get a quoted on colour code ding the rear bumper ( removed rubber strip ) front bumper with the chin spoiler the rear hacth. From the black one. Repire the small rust patch in the sills ( a 5p bubble in the lower conner, rest off the sill is clean.)if nessery cut out and replace, and repaint and wax oil the insides. and remove and re stole the undersill trims. With a slicone seem 2 stop moister and dirt build up.

Covered about 80 miles today

Today I phoned JMGarage and spoke to Jon, and then Mark to order the parts to finish my front-end service.
How very helpful they are too!

removed the door strips today, they bonded with double sided tape, and the rear one just fell off in my hand when i was talking 2 the body shop about the possablity off removing them 2 expose the nicer looking pannle crease. also another place 4 a moister trap

using some plactic credit cards gentley worked the strips free. then washed the area, used the cards 2 remove any tape left and then clay bar the area, then polished the area with some wax cleaner, iv found these get scraces out quicker and easyer then poilsh.

now they could be refitted with fresh tape and bond, be honist the idea off tape holding these on is quite scary.

That's a nice idea Terra, I could do that to mine at some point, especially as one is dented and rusted where a door check-link was missing for ages and the door was swinging open too wide.

Didnt realise they were stuck on, always thought there'd be pins on the back and holes in the body work to receive them. I've seen 944's without them in photos before and wondered if any ever came out the factory without them but now have my answer!

Looks tidy without them

They were a listed optune code. But I think they just became standa feature. Just got 2 see if the paint is faded above and below

When I took them off the 944 I found a line where the bottom of the car has had paint in the past.

Today I parted with £1300 for a load of work on the 968. I left it with my local specialist for a week while I was away. The main jobs where fixing the bottom door hinge that had come away from the A pillar, belts, front end seals and all the rollers, a major service with plugs and all the filters and a couple of other little jobs. At least it all won't need doing again for a good while.

Fitted new Sebro discs and Mintex pads to my S2 after the ones I had skimmed to get through an MOT warped badly, simple enough job and the discs had 30% off from Eurocarparts so total was less than £140. Much improved pedal feel and certainly stop better and nicer without wheel wobble from the old warped ones.
