picked up some parts from the platers

now I just have to remember where they all go

I've had to put all the bit in labeled containers so that I remember where they all go. I'd stand no chance with a pile of bolts like that. Best of luck

Use PET with the rebuild. It's the intstructuon leaflet for big boy LEGO kits.

Finally started putting it back together, powdercoated the front cross member and trial fitted the steering rack



I purchased the JMG steering shaft ....nicely made



I allso purchased the uprated hose
as you can see the loop on the end is larger, but a bit disapointed in the quality the fittings do not appear to be plated they are magnetic so can not be stainless, also the webite shows it with the outer protection fitted but it arrived without I guess they expect you to cut it off your existing rack and cable tie on ...not on my car...my hose guy is going to take it apart plate the fittings and re-fit with the correct instulation



fitted the brake booster and new master cylinder and nice new white plastic's

I wasn't aware of the JMG steering shaft. Great idea.
Also, have you made a dirt shield for the master cylinder, or is this supposed to be stock on all our cars?

It's the stock heat sheild

i hope your not going to drive that when you have finished, be a shame to get it dirty

Re fitted the front suspension and new steering rack track rods etc



fitted the wiring loom and my heat sheild ..... .............Amazing what a bit of plating does to a bonnet latch looks new with its new cable

I doubt it looked that clean even when it left the factory..! . Super job.

I recall my suspension looking bright and shiny last year..but alas actually using the car has removed that shine. It still looks good, but needs a proper redo. Bright shiny parts are hard to keep that way, but are soooo nice to fit and work on, so keep this up!

I find myself with something else on my rebuild list every time you post an update Ken!

It is a problem but I guess it going to get dirty...........I was thinking of spraying with Lanolin a clear wax that can be removed with a steam cleaner

Top work as usual Ken, I grumble enough about not being able to use all of my garage space let alone a smaller area.

I'm on your line of thought as I work through mine to protect with something and clean once a year. I'm thinking about using Corrosion-X on all new shiny stuff, Jon JMG recommended it on a posting for keeping aluminium parts clean and free of corrosion, works on steel, aluminium and electrics too.

I have been told its good stuff Simon Peckham is using it on my engine block he recomends CorrosionX Aviation

Yup that's the one, I have a bottle already and used it to stop flash rusting on some parts I cleaned up then chucked them in a jar of soapy water, shake them up every few days they've been in 6 weeks and nothing yet. Nothing compared to wear from being on the road but it works so far. The electrics protection it offers is very interesting too.
