That's not a bad price at all Ken for the hours they put in. You must be pleased but what does it drive like now?

Overall your car looks stunning (of course!) the ride height looks good, underside looks better than most peoples top sides! I bet they thanked you for giving them such a clean car to work on - no seized bolts etc

Just organising some photos so here are a few of mine.

These two from a rally last year:

This in the pits at Croft Circuit after a bit of an off. It was a Mission Motorsport day and I was showing the track drivers how we rally drivers do things. A circa 110mph, 4 wheel drift around a corner and I snagged a wheel off the side which catapulted us off into the grass in the middle of the track. Great fun and the wounded squaddie next to me didn't bat an eyelid. Bloody paras!

I would be worried about driving through that much water, assuming you have the air intake in the stock position in front of the wheel.

Funnily enough I've just been talking about that with my mechanic just an hour ago.

That test was quite specific - you started on the far bank, crossed the ford, stopped on the exit ramp (shortly after that shot was taken). Turn off engine. Restart, pull away, stop abreast some cones. The whole test is against the clock and the scratch time was about 20 seconds.

That being the case I stuffed a rolled up t-shirt into the air intake and gaffa taped it up vertically just for that 20 seconds. Then grabbed it back out, refitted the cone and pinged off to the next test.

Mr Mechanic is thinking of how we can relocate it permanently now.

NACA type duct on the bonnet?

I like the photo though, for some reason it made me think of the log flume at Alton Towers! You should have both had you arms in the air out the sunroof

Modifying the air in is actually very difficult if you want to be classy about it!

A Naca runs the risk of sucking (fnar) air out rather than blowing (fnar fnar) it in.

A bonnet scoop is the easiest but is ugly. I'll see what my guy dreams up and have a look at some historically applied options I guess.

Yep, exactly.

They can be absolutely superb at what they do but are really difficult to get right.

I'm no expert though, just good at listening to people who know what they're on about!

Porsche solved the problem by lining the front wing. Hydolocking was a well documented issue with series one car, so all 1986 model onwayds cars had the liner.

With regards to the ford photo: I observe that you are no stranger to a fish supper Sir!
