Okay. First up - simple image insertion.

Step 1:

Click on 'Img' ^.

When you do that, you'll see that the cursor is blinking in the middle between the hard brackets.
This is where you need to copy/paste an image from a public domain.
[If someone knows how to do this from a file on your laptop/computer, please let me know].

If you go from here: Open new tab, search for any image anywhere (just about), right click on the image and the dialogue box will pop up and give you a list of options that includes 'Copy image address'. Paste this into the gap - easiest method ctrl and v simultaneously. Then it's on your 'clipboard'.

For example:

If I simply remove the 'Img' function, you can see the link that I copy pasted.
{if you were to copy/paste that link in an address bar, you would find the image but that does not post the image directly on here.

You will need a public domain site which hosts images. I use Pinterest. I used to use Flickr but any public site will do.

According to a quick search:

10 Best free image hosting sites:

Wix
Google Photos
Imgur
Flickr
500px
ImgBox
Dropbox
Free Image Sharing
PostImage
ImageShack

If you have a Google account, this will be simpler as you can back up your own pics. I do, but I would have to shift loads of pics from Pinterest over and I cba.

You'll have to take the pictures of whatever, download them to that public domain and go from there - 'Img', > Copy image address > insert image (copy/paste).

Thank you very much.

I used to have a photobucket account - that started off as free and then they started to charge...

Anyway,I got some Porsche time today! Took a trip down to my local dealership to order a few parts and took the opportunity to mooch around the show room. Lovely GT4 RS with Weissach pack in there and an RS Spyder in Guards red also with Weissach pack- absolutely stunning!

Once home, it was back out with the transaxle and start replacing all of the seals.

Weather permitting. I'll get some more done tomorrow

I replaced the motor in the door mirror on my 944. I used a £10 motor from the "well known online auction site" which only had 3 terminals , and on removing the original motor found it was a 4 wire motor. On checking , the black/brown. and white/brown wires joined after the plug, so I taped up the white/brown and used the other 3 wires, soldered to the motor and can report it works perfectly.

That's one of those funny things where you rarely use it - like the headlight wash and sometimes, they take a lot of effort for something you don't use much.
Link for that motor please (for future reference).

Oh and welcome to Tumbleweed town...

I've made about 6 posts here in the last week I'll have you know!

Admittedly was absent for a bit, will try to be more thoughtful in future!

Changed the oil yesterday. 8k miles since last change, oil was still very clean as it should be with an engine rebuild 14k miles ago. Sticking with my Total Quartz Racing 10w/50. Been impressed with it since I started using it about 10 years ago.

Also changed the alternator drive belt which had seen better days. Anyway, a decent spannering session in nice weather.

MOT will be next early next month. Didn't see anything underneath yesterday to cause any concern, fingers crossed!
