I'm not the only magpie around here then. I thought I was a sucker for shiny things but you have beaten me this time!!
I love the look of freshly plated parts however some of them will be powdercoated over the top for better corrosion resistance, some will have clear powdercoat so it will be high gloss gold :D :D

Brake disc's were good so i plated them they will be powdercoated gloss black on the hubs and edges

Carrera RSR I still have a way to go to beat your engine bay............not to mention those fuch's

Isn't it somewhat pointless coating brake discs as you will have to clean that off before use.

I'm guess your expecting the pads2 remove the braking surface? And then the rest off the disc will stay rust free.

I'm deff going 2 get myself in the platers, want 2 do the bits in the engine bay, that no one sees

That is an impressive looking set of parts you have there Ken. I'm collecting bits and pieces off the turbo for plating too but was just going to paint alot of the bits in your photos.

yep thats the idea :D I'm going to powdercoat the hub and the outer edge so they stay in nice condition

I like to plate and then paint or powdercoat otherwise I find parts can rust under the paint....I guess that why our car are galvanised then painted.....

I posted the bits today should be with you tomorrow :D

On my 944S, I hammerited the disc bells first then sprayed them with grey primer as per original, and no signs of rust after 4 years

Thanks Ken

Not a bad idea at all plating before painting. I think you may have just changed my plans a little!

You had better tell the MOT inspectors to wash their hands before touching this!

Now the tank is nice and clean on to replacing ALL the fuel lines and hoses, having spent over £600 on fuel lines I was disapointed that some were NLA namely tank to return line and a breather hose ....but I found Richard who made me the tank return line ....the 2 lines that go to and from the fuel rail and supplied pipe to make the breather hose(4 hoses) all for £50 :D :D :D :D

these are all OE supplier fittings I just need to add some high tec heat insulation to the ones that go over the exhaust..pictures later but these hoses are £100 each from OPC......quality of Richards parts are first class

Now the breather hose needs a tight 180 deg bend :? some told me to bake it in the oven :D .....so I made a insert to stop it colapsing tied it into the bend and heated it...cooled it and heated it

after an hour I got

NOT the result I was after :( .......So I tried again but added some heavy duty adhesive lined heat shrink and

Sorted really happy with the result :D :D
