Dying carpet was a fail so cut the inertia reel brackets off and ordered some static belts at a tenth of OPC prices. Quite like the 2 tone effect. I'll post a piccy when it's done. Fitted a Rennline throttle pedal. Total self indulgance and quite a fiddle hate that circlip behind the pedal.

This isn't really a "did today" rather its a last couple of weeks or so over Christmas
Other than sorting out the wipers on the 944 cab (details on the other thread, I fitted the new rotor arm and dizzy cap in the 968... new one shows just how knackered the old one was....

New rotor arm was minus three spacers that were present on the existing one...
took the chance that the spacers should be there and put them on the new one

All put back together and got a noticeable "click, click, click" from the new cap and rotor on one of the connections....
http://vid1168.photobucket.com/albums/r ... hwequ2.mp4
Took a small bit of sand paper to the leading edge of the rotor arm connection and profiled it to make less impact with whichever post it was hitting
Before:

After:

and she now runs like a dream - starts and idles from the outset without a hitch and no hesitation on acceleration...

As the rain was continuous today, I fitted the new centre console in the 968... my previous one had split the hinge right the way down after I stupidly leant on it
How fragile are those things!!

Old one removed (4 screws two inc under the ash tray) and all cleaned up

New one in a fitted... a 15 minute job, no idea why it took me so long to do it

I just need to fit a nice piece of carpet or something in there

Yes, the spacers are supposed to be there. If you fit the rotor arm without them, you'll crack itblackadder30 wrote: New rotor arm was minus three spacers that were present on the existing one...took the chance that the spacers should be there and put them on the new one

After 2 weeks perfect running following replacement of the FPR misfire started again. As I had a fuel pressure tester from Arnwerx decided to test the pump. Be warned petrol will dissolve the face of the guage (bit of a design fault there). Anyway through the foggy plastic pressure readings were fine. Will check the flow later in daylight.
The Clifford alarm has been playing up, Deactivate, turn key, dash lights go out, all electrical power dead apart from alarm led. Reset, try again, after 4th effort fired up so that will need investigating or junking. John at Unit 11 said it wouldn't be the first to give problems.

Lovely day (26) in the Western Cape SA. Just got out the door, filled the tank a bit then off to hit the highway - as usual no traffic much. Back home is thru' the twisty bits in the hills - Sports Konis - then a beer at the pub...

Re: What did you do to your 924/944/968 today?
Can't wait for those sunny days of 26deg to return here Dave
Our Tipec Cheshire & Staffs run out through the Peaks and Derbyshire yesterday was a somewhat grey, foggy affair
but we did have four 928 S4's and my 944 Cab.... and the roads were sublime

It did clear up though by the end of the day.....

Car really needed a good clean before parking up for the night!

What a lovely bunch of pics! Well, I am not being contrite by any means, but I miss those little lanes and squashy puddles! Over here it's open roads and dead fields of grass, few or no trees, a few herds of cattle sometimes, or sheep. But alas no smell of the unique English countryside...

Fitted Woodypeck LED HeadLights a major improvement. Used the led aux main and fogs as well to match, more seen than see but the performance of leds on main is certaily adequate. Lateral spread on dip is a bit narrow but I may need to adust them a bit. Not difficult to fit, I got the ones with heat dissipators as the ones with fans probably would not fit.

Re: What did you do to your 924/944/968 today?
Yep that's how it was done. It's an interesting write up.
On another note the car still developes an occasional misfire feels like bad fuel supply. Checked pressure and flow both good. After a chat with Cath Burrows she suggested a fuel pump problem, if the fuel level gets low ie. 2 gallons or so the pump is not getting sufficient gravity feed, it can blow but doesn't suck very well. Happens in 996s. Pehaps my tank filter is clogged as well. I've got a new pump and will check the tank filter (horror stories of buggering up the tank). Tbh on reflection it does seem to happen at low fuel levels. In line filter is newish. I'll keep the tank full til the weather improves.
