924 door cards are a massive pain to get off if you don't know how. Both window mechs now fully greased, and wiper mech a bit looser than it was.

Had another look at the Saratoga roof and fittings, lost heart and so moved onto the wiper refurb on the 944 cab....

I then moved on to the Boxster....

Fitted my new ICV at the weekend but it hasn't cured the rough starting and lumpy idle, in fact I'd take a lumpy idle over the now not starting any day of the week....

Thinking I may have a spark issue, a closer look at the dizzy suggests its past its best so I took advantage of ECP 30% discount at the weekend for a new dizzy which arrived today.

Took the three screws out but could get the cap off... Is there a magic way to remove it or does BF&I come into play?

That's corrosion holding that on, you can see it, going to need a clump and a wire brush

Only habit holding it on.

As Waylander said, clean up the plate after taking off the old cap. You don't want to risk damage by forcing anything into the gap, so just tap back with a punch on the coil connection insulator, alternating with any handy one of the plug insulators.

Got a few minutes to strip the dizzy off today ready for the new dizzy and rotor arm going on. Not looking pretty under there so no wonder I had trouble with not starting and a rough idle!

Cleaned it up for now as its not worth putting the new dizzy in until the rotor arm arrives... Started ok so I hink I've found the source of the problem :D

Also got on with sorting the wipers on the 944 cab... More on the relevant thread :D

Went out in the 924 Rothmans for a Christmas tree today... called in Tesco on the way home and two very happy chaps in a fairly new Cayenne gave the "thumbs up" and "ok" signs in approval of the car - quite chuffed :D

New FPR seems to have cured the misfire, bought a good replacement boot carpet, first stage of going from White Linen to Black. Door cards next then full carpet set. Keeping lower dash and seats as they are.

Sounds good! I'd be interested in the linen set if it needs a new home :D

LEDs looking good Scott, which ones are they? Any links to the seller?

When fitting they don't fit through the existing holes, you have to move the reflector forward to fit them and then pop it back.

Swapped the bit of carpet over on the rearr seat backs. The white linen came off easily but the black was a pain to get off the donor seats. Then found the carpet over the rear wheel arches is totally different as mine has the recoil seatbelts, donor car did not. So I'll try to dye them. God that white linen looks filthy. Door cards have most of the plastic tangs broken on the shut handle but I've fixed those before with some plastic rod left over from some Roman blinds. The cards should clean up nicely just hope it doesn't look too dull. The inspiration was a beautiful S2 I saw at a local club meet with a perfect black interior.
