finally got around to sorting the mad/ boiling hot heater/climate control as winter is coming. Removed the glove box to expose the control motors and linkages and sure enough one of the white plastic "clip" or swivel joints has snapped in half. I have temporarily held it all back together with some soft iron wire to see if there are any other issues. Just been for a test drive and the difference is amazing. Brilliant temp and air distribution control. I will order some new plastic bits from porsche on monday to finish the job properly. If your heater seems to have a mind of its own, or seems generally a bit rubbish, have a look at the linkages on the passenger side of the heater unit.
have a look at this website

I investigated how bad the rust was that caused it to fail the MOT.
The answer is...quite bad!
Looks absolutely perfect from the outside and mostly perfect from under the carpet. Looks like the outer sill was replaced previously but when they did they bodged it and cut half the inner sill away and never bothered sorting it out!
What is left has rusted away and caused a ruddy big hole on the underside of the car. I've already spent a fortune on getting this thing sorted and back on the road and don't have the money to sort this due to changes in circumstances from when I got it. That and I want to get my other 944 back on the road.
At a bit of a loss of what to do with it right now but I'm not going to make any hasty decisions.
Edit: Oops, pictures didn't work.

Got my rear window wiper working! The threads on the arm connector were worn smooth for some reason. A few drops of Super Glue does it...

Just been out driving mine as much as possible and enjoying it with out having to worry about the Temp rising! Been fantastic, done just over 400 miles the past week since finally sorting the cooling system, making up for lost time in the summer. The car seems to be enjoying it as well, running much smoother. I'm also enjoying the new throttle cable and response cam I fitted. I also replaced the 'top hats' on the front shocks. As a treat for behaving so well and putting a smile back on my face I gave the engine bay a clean up. 'No Nonsense' de-greaser from Screwfix works wonders.

Ok, so after a good start to the day, took the 944 cab for a wash and quick vac ahead of a day out to Lancashire and some pesky bollard in the petrol station hid behind the car... I felt like a right feckwit muppet when I did it but the car needs body work any way (picking myself up mentally) are there any thoughts on repair or replace?

Oops, just realised that none of the pictures in my post showed up, then they were massive! All fixed now.

Yes, I've been offered one locally that just needs paint but will keep an eye out for a red one that'll bolt straight on... I may have a go at a fibre glass repair anyway just for the fun and practice

Funny thing is, I wish it was because at the minuscule speed I was manoeuvring, the PU rear wound have bounced leaving no damage

Collected my 944S2 after a service, belts and rollers included. 4 new tyres, wheels refurbished, and new pads. What a difference, engine seems smoother and more eager and the handling vastly improved.
Old tyres were only between 13 and 14 years old!
