I took my car to a body shop last week to have it mopped. It now looks really good. It had a bloom effect? on the bonnet - all sorted now and other bits tidied up to.

They do look very good indeed 8) , loving the cut alloy rim look - so much classier than paint. Made me wonder if my teledials could be done the same? keep up the good work!

Thanks guys, and sorry to be attention seeking! I'm very proud of the finish and impressed with the price, and just had to share some of my excitement. The refurb place suggested not to lacquer the lip as stone chips spread and ruin the surface.

You will notice that there are no centre-caps yet. They were temporarily mislaid, but will be fitted by the weekend.

Where did you get the vinyl from
I searched for weeks to get the correct match and weight, online and in shops and I didn't think I would be able to get close to what I was after, in the end I gave an original off cut sample to the missus as she works at a very well known sofa company, she checked the stores and amazingly they had exactly what I was after, so I bought a few metres just in case I made a mistake.

I made a start on it today, I trimmed the edges of the sunroof first, glued and used the seal to keep it in place whilst I did the sides, just got the front and rear parts to do and I should have it finished by tomorrow and then just need stretch a few creases out as you can see.

spent a bit of time on PET, and ordered all the new fixings for the rear end rebuild on the 924 turbo project.

all components have been vapour blasted (aluminium items), torsion beam powder coated, all new bushes throughout, new fixings, bearings, hubs, discs and calipers etc. just have to wait for the new nuts/bolts/washers to turn up then can rebuild the whole rear beam!

Yes looking forward to putting it all back together after a lot of work sourcing parts and sending parts off to be cleaned etc.

Also means I can get the car back on the ground with the new wheels and get a look at the whole look of the car now its had a massive change.

Can't wait

Adjusted my hand brake inside the car. Had done it at the hubs a few weeks back. What a difference. Ought to have done that 7 years ago!!
