I have been reading that MOT rules have change recently. Actually I think they changed in 2012 but weren't enforced until this month.

The bit that worries me is
Quote:
Exhaust
A catalytic convertor fitted as original equipment but missing will be a reason for failure.

I think my 944 was decated by the previous owner and I had plans to remove the cats and fit an x-pipe on the 928. Does anyone know what the rules are for sure? Were cats fitted as standard on 944's and 928's?

I guess most testers will not be sure if a 1990/91 car came with a cat as i believe they were not compulsory untill 1992. i have a decat to and an mot soon, so will find out!
