Started by looking at the two horrid bolts holding the rear axle to the body - I managed to turn it but cant undo it. The nut is also ruined so wondering about just grinding it off!? I dont really want to re use that bolt :)

My other thought is i might do the shocks, the ARBs and maybe the inner bushes myself and then drop it off somewhere for someone else to have the problem :)

Dont grind off the bolt whatever you do!! You will then have nothing to get the shaft of the bolt out with, other than cutting through the brackets or somehow between the bracket and the arm, through the bush.. in any case a serious ball ache!!

Get the car to someone with a impact gun, a big massive impact gun, before the bolt head gets anymore ruined.. a decent impact gun, will undo it, even if it gets done up again so you can drive home, but someone with a big 3/4 inch impact gun will also have a range of sockets, hopefully a few imperial ones just under the size of the original bolt head, that can be hammered on, even if the bolt head is mashed, there is always a way... as soon as you have no bolt head you will be snookered.

Bought and fitted a new Bosch battery....nothing wrong with the battery on the car (also a Bosch fitted a couple of years ago) but I needed a new battery for my Fiat Coupe that I am recommisioning...and as it uses the same battery as a 944, the older battery goes to the Fiat naturally!

You know you've really started something here.....it's a bit like painting the Severn bridge, just as you think you've finished....

Good to see another car that's not saddled with the excess weight of all that PAS gubbins!

So today I had one of my 944 S2's that I sold last year come back a little late (but better late than never) for its "end of warranty" inspection, service, MOT and sorting out any niggles visit.

Great to see the old girl, needs a clutch and a few odds and ends, but I need to give her the best chance in life, so it's all covered in our personal warranty.

Will be so nice to take her for a test drive once the work is all done, just for old times sake. :)

I remember all the cars I have owned and still miss them all :(

You're doing a clutch under warranty? Surely you're loosing money hand over fist on that job and the sale of the car?

Absolutely fine about doing a clutch under warranty!

When I sell a car I absolutely insist it comes back at the end of the warranty for an inspection, service and MOT, and if we find anything wrong it gets done. This one has some backlash in the clutch, suspect it may be an old rubber centred clutch, so, its coming out and new clutch is going in.

Back just a few months ago some people commented on forums that I was asking a little too much for this car... Even though today it would be one of the mid price ranged ones on pistonheads as the prices have gone up so much.. but I don't sell cars cheap as a rule, but I ensure they are right when we sell them and just as right as the warranty closes.

I know where your coming from, but the state its in. I think half hour at a time I can improve it a lot! But it wont have time to get this mucky again.

Looking through my paper work this car has had work done on the power steering. But power steering seems to be some what missing haha
