Do all classic policies require car to be on driveway?

Have you had a great quote or a nightmare trying to claim.

Do all classic policies require car to be on driveway?

Post by massive »

Does anyone know of a company doing classic or limited milage insurance that doesn't require the car to be on a driveway or in a garage?

Have tried Performance Direct (currently insured with Chaucer but policy due to expire), Lancaster and Adrian Flux so far, all require the car to be parked off the public road.

It's for a 944 1984 btw

Cheers

Just a Thought! If you cant get a quote for non driveway parking, or if it's so expensive, do you have a friendly neighbour, access to a rented garage, or even a storage facility close by? the difference in Insurance cost may well pay for the alternative parking. Obviously it's not the most convenient set up but may be an workable alternative especially if it's not your daily drive.

sounds a bit unlikely, because the car is always on risk, if it was on your drive at the very least, or in a secure garage, it would be considered a much lower risk....hence lower premium. Mind you I am no expert, but it does sound likely.

Insurance has been done so many times - just search for the threads. However to help you here are the e-mail adresses for you to send a bulk e-mail to to ask them about it - most of them are on there. I did this and it quickly excluded a lot off as they require 'garaged'. At the time mine was parked on the drive and the best deal was with 2Gether Insurance - after some bartering. It is now on SORN and in the garage for the winter, but I'm not bothering telling them. By the way, if they don't respond just don't deal with them.
