Hi everyone,

I have just joined TIPOC having recently bought a Porsche. I used to own a 944 2.5 Lux (D Reg) in white a few years ago and loved the car. I used it everyday and it never let me down once!

I have now just bought a 2007 Cayman 2.7 in Guards Red as a second car and I love it!

Hope to meet some members soon when I start going to shows and to the meets. I am from Bradford in Yorkshire so will hopefully be going to the meet in Leeds soon.

How are you finding the Cayman in comparison to the '44?

I am finding the Cayman totally different due to it being mid-engine. The sound when it hits 4000 rpm + is addictive and the handling is perfect. I must admit though that the 944's handling was very impressive too!

I remember my 944 being well built and the Cayman is no exception. The build quality is outstanding. I would say that the fuel consumption is very similar, although the Caymans performance is a lot more impressive.

All in all I am very happy with the new Cayman. I really wanted the Cayman S, but unfortunately the dreaded insurance stepped in again (I am only 27). But since I have only ever been in a 2.7 Cayman, I find the performance impressive, and it is enough for me.
