Nice pics Andrew, great track to spectate from. Was you on the hill or in the stands? Must try and get back over there soon, been many years since I've been.

Yeah because it's flat you can see the action all way round pretty much where ever you are. Used to like being at the end of the lap and watch from follow through all way round the back down to the chicane. Used to be lots of action there. Keep meaning to book a track experience there although they haven't got there 997 turbo anymore which is what I wanted to go in. Have to be the Lambo then I suppose

Is that really an Austin Rover Group Maestro in the last but one picture?!?!?!?

My god.. that is probably the last one in existance, making it the rarest car raced anywhere in the world, more so than a 60's Ferrari GTO or a 917!

Typical Maestro, at the back of the grid holding up everyone trying to lap it then?

:D

Having said that, the MG Maestro Turbo and MG Montego Turbo back in the day were monsters compared to the Cosworth that everyone liked to talk about.. I was also a fan of the Lancia Thema Turbo at the same time, which was better than the Cosworth also.

The real bad boy from that time had to be the Lancia Delta HF Turbo Integralli, thats what I learned to drive in and the first car I ever got airborne!

Of course a Porsche turbo from the same era is another league.

If you want to see quick, the Moggy number 29 driven by Keith Ahlers, was rapid both at Thruxton and in the wet at Castle Combe, spectacular :?

Previous Thema owner here, most comfortable and luxurious car I've had and a brilliant cruiser that could hold its own on the twisty bits.
My old boss had MG Maestro 2.0efi which was pretty rapid. The MG turbos are cool Qcars now along with the Renault 21 turbos and Alpine GTAs :love5:

My mate had one, the first time I went in it I was extremely drunk (he was sober before anyone asks).... it freaked me out completely as I was sitting in the drivers seat (i.e. on the right) and kept reaching for the invisible brake and steering wheel!!
