On a lookout for a really good 993

Post by MarinerChris »

Hi

I am new around here and just recently moved back to the UK and decided to get a 993 and 968 as my daily drivers (seems mad to spend the same money buying a new BMW or other car)

Just wondering if anyone here knows of an enthusiast owned 993 or 968 for sale, do not need a perfect one, but an honest one that has been looked after well.

993 needs to be a C2 really, not bothered by the premium for an S

968 can be a lux or a sport, not sure I need a Club Sport, but it would be nice.

Any tips? people to avoid? Who to trust?

Thanks

Chris

For a 993 or 968, get the very best one you can afford or find, nothing quite as expensive as a cheap Porsche.

I don't have any 993's or 968's for sale at the moment, I know Henry at 911 Virgin is an honest guy and often has good stock in.

I might be putting up for sale one of my Personal 968's, it is a left hand drive one but it is unlikely to be ready for sale for ages as car sales is not our thing and the workshop is always too busy with customers cars.

Join the TIPEC club, go to some local meetings. You will make some local Porsche friends and you might get a lead on an enthusiast owned Porsche, which will always be a good bet.

Info for the above.
1995 Varioram 993. Midnight Blue with Marble Grey interior. All the usual electrics and all working, Air con, JVC CD/Radio MP3 Compatible, H.I.D Headlamps (Main & Dip),Clear Indicator lenses back and front,18 inch Turbo wheels,GT2 front spoiler, rear bridge spoiler,Bilstein shocks, front strut brace,Brake air ducts,Fab Speed exhausts. The car has covered 129000 miles but the engine was stripped and rebuilt at around 70000 miles.(This was due to a garage fire which damaged the right rear of the car and the ownerwas worried that it may have caused damage the engine so had it rebuilt) The Damage was repaired under an insurance claim so the car has got a Cat C against its name. I have had the car VIC checked and it is as it should be. Will put 12 months MOT on the car as it runs out in June. Will also have the air con regased.Good tyres (rears replaced last week) (Please note the Private Plate is not included in the sale.) Looking for around £18k for her.

Hi Graham,
No I haven't sold it yet.
Some kind person decided to take a key and scar the N/S front wing and Passenger door and at the moment I am not in a position to have it sprayed. If any one is willing to take it as it is then I am prepared to let her go for £15000. As soon as I get time I will post a couple of pics of the paint damage. Hopefully that will be at the weekend.
Regards;
Graham

From the look of it, someone is going to get a bargain!

I didnt think it could be a varioram engined one from the price, but that engine pic confirms it, its a varioram 993 at a bargain price!
