well done!...head gasket went yesterday on my 944s....still,ive been putting off the weepy crank oil seal...best to do both jobs at once..engine out then....old cars, happy days..

Porsche recommend replacing the head gasket every 10 years on the 944 range, or so they told me

Amazing they come up with that but leave the Camchain and tensioner off the schedule entirely!

They only care about the first years while it was under warranty from the factory

well...the tensioner ,chain and pads have certainly been changed,(the running pads are only just yellowing)the guy spent nearly 2k on it,then put it in for its mot(failed miserably on body stucture),it had been standing for 10 years when i got it,interestingly the gasket has turbo on it,is it the right one? ,.... mr mitchells establishment will be relieving me of some hard earned cash today.....

Swapped over the brand new parking brake pads from one car 2 the next. One side was squealing due 2 a free spring clip.

The m030 turbo calipers don't make things simple. Got 2 washers between the hub and calipers, right pain 2 get in place without falling off.

Just been to the tip and dropped off the dented and rusted off-side front wing off my S2. It was beyond repair or else I would have had it done. The front bumper's going to the same place at the weekend when I've taken the lights out of it.

The car is now on the drive wing-less and bumper-less waiting for the shiny newly resprayed ones that are in the garage to be fitted. However there's no rush, I need to make sure everything is properly undersealed before starting to build it back up. The other wing is coming off this weekend and is being sent for respray along with the bonnet, badge panel, and headlight covers. When it's rebuilt then the entire front end has been resprayed and I can then 'move backwards' along the car.... slowly but surely does it.

If I'm going to do it - I'll do it properly. No point in putting the wing back on if the door has dropped and catches it. The main hinge has gone on the driver's door, not the pins etc, and I believe that it is not possible to repair this - so I am collecting a new door tomorrow. At least it's the right colour (Cobalt Blue) so is a good base for when it's resprayed in the not too far off future.

Just seen this, really bad luck. Is it at Sulzars?

It is indeed at Al's. Turning into a bit of a rebuild by the looks of things. Sump is coming off to check pick-up pipe, debris etc. Pistons coming out to clean bores properly so going to do rings and big ends while we're in. Compression was down a tad anyway. It also looks like I'm getting a hybrid turbo back as the standard K26 cold sides are NLA. Will be getting a bigger cold side meaning more boooooooooost!

Plan to run around 20psi with the bigger turbo and see how it goes. I'm putting on 55lb injectors at the same time. Hoping to make about 320bhp.

Cheers

Stuart

Today I ......failed my MOT  I knew that the indicator self return was broken but didnt think this was an MoT failure. It also failed on the rear handbrake so that is a rear brake rebuild on the to do list as well as an indicator assembly swap out.
