Hi Jon

Well the square dash sold for just under the asking price, as long as I put another 12 months MOT on it (5 months was remaining) which is no problem at all, so I was very pleased. The new owner works for Octane Magazine so you're likely to see it in print before long! (Its third magazine feature!)

The new turbo has a good history and is very straight with 104k miles. Rob Wright came for a look with me yesterday for the second viewing to confirm its sorted - not mint, but very tidy. The sills have been painted with black stone chip but that's hiding nothing. I took my scope with me today and had a good look down the sills. Passenger side has a couple of small 10p sized rust spots (maybe smaller - the scope makes them look bigger I think!) but the drivers side looks like it just came out of the factory! I'd want to re-paint the sills factory colour and it needs a new gear gaiter but otherwise it's very sorted, needs nothing and have another 18 months on the belts etc.

Cambridge OPC did a full (documented) check on her and the only thing wrong they found was a one-way valve on the windscreen washers was broken. This has been replaced.

Anyway, here's a few pics. Hope to pick her during the week and cannot wait :D

Will post a new thread when I have her in my hands! 8)

Cheers
Andy

Good news, another turbo owner in the forum :) Looks pretty good and I like the colour.

Today I will be removing more sticky stuff, nearly there now, and trying to get the bloody heater out. So far it is beating me as to what is still holding it in!

Yesterday I replaced the stock circulating valve that failed on the dyno and relocated it from under the manifold. I fitted an in-line restrictor, robbed from a (crap) Turbosmart in cabin manual valve, drilled out to the same size as the stock valve.
Did some runs and got my passenger to adjust the duty cycle map and it worked very nicely without overboosting.
Also used it as a chance to lean cruise out a touch.

Just need to tidy the wiring a bit and pick up some more heatshrink.

Andy, I love that interior on your new turbo. They just don't make cars in completely brown interior any more!

Well, I'm red, green, brown colourblind, and sometimes I just have to guess! My second guess would be dark red.

To clear up, it's officially burgundy, but the sun facing parts have gone brown with age, some of the more hidden items are very burgundy. It has a Porsche certificate of Authenticity which from memory mentions that the car has Burgundy interior :)

This evening I fitted braided hoses to my 944, fitted my newly rebuilt brake calipers which had new seals a good clean up and a coat of red paint along with new pads, seals and springs, wires etc, these calipers were seized up along with the fixing bolts one even sheared so I had to drill and retap the hole.

Also changed the fuel filter and brown petrol came out of it, been sitting for a long time this car but not for long now :D
