Working on the theory that an average car does 30mpg and does 12k a year the carbon footprint to build a new average car is over 3 years worth in factory build emissions, the hybrid car takes over 5 years because of battery production, therefore you could run your Porsche either 10 years at 6k or 15 years at 4k a year, which are the more usual totals for our classic cars before a bloo*y Prius or similar become carbon friendly and that's assuming the batteries and charging motor technology last 10-15 years, its all smoke and bulls+it to increase taxation

Unfortunately with the weather being so bad we didn't go round to the front garage and RPM, there were several very expensive white 993's in there at £99k and £125k

This whole thing just boils my blood. The only sound scientific reason to reduce the use of fossil fuels is that they are a finite recourse! Frankly your horoscope has better chance of accurately predicting the future than so called Climate "Science". Man-made global warming is just a political band-wagon that people like David Cameron use to try an appear "cool". The whole thing is based on computer climate models that can be manipulated to predict pretty much anything and attribute it to pretty much anything. :x

P.S. so there is plenty of oil left for my children to drive round in vintage 997s I walk to work.

It was only a few years ago they were banging on about global sheilding, from the start of the industrial revolution the crap put into the atmosphere across the northern hemisphere had actually postponed the million year overdue iceage, yes we can and do make a difference, the grounding of all air traffic over the US after the alledged hijack and destruction of the twin towers in New York, the ground temperature rose faster and higher than predictions because they say the lack of vapour trail created cloud cover, but that was a very short term event, who's to say if it was made permenant and flight was banned over the US that natural cloud cover would not increase due to more evapouration caused by the higher temp and we are back to parity
