I must agree with Sean :(
Very poor showing of Porsches considering
thay could at least put them all together!

The highlight of the day was JK giving it large in his 914-6 on the Rally stage!!! :happy7:

But on the whole a piss poor showing!

No Classic parking

Less for more £ year on year shame!!!!

There were comments I read prior to the show saying that none of the UK Porsche clubs were even contacted?
I'd of thought it would be a start point possibly?

Live Promotions Events have done very little with the event since taking it over a few years ago.

I didn't want to write too much yesterday because I know most on here were going today and I didn't want to put people off in case I had got it wrong.

I arrived at 09:30, walked hall 1 and 2 by 10:30 listened to Steve Parish interview Bjorn (which was excellent). I spent an hour in Hall 3 and 4 bumped into Brian and Amanda had a natter for 10 minutes.

Bought a couple of pair of Le Mans (Steve McQueen) inspired shoes. Went back to the car at Midday to listen to the first half of the Chelsea game. Went back into the Show and had a catch up with PJ and Dom on the DoDo Juice stand. Another quick wander through Hall 1 and 2, bumped into Johnathon had a good catch up with him.

Watched the live rally stage for 15 minutes, cars not being able to get out of second gear is a bit boring. At 3pm I left.

I will be writing to the organisers and the PR company as they have got it very wrong.

I was also disappointed with the show, arrived early and did halls 1,2 and 3 and watched the Caterhams, an hour gone, then met up with Paul, Derek and Brian to wonder around these again and the rest of the show, stopping to chat to friends as we wandered, best bit for me was the rally stage, it was nice to see these classic rally cars being driven in anger, albeit as Sean said limited by the course to second gear

Nice photos Lindsay including my fave car of the day - Sir Stirling Moss' RS60 Spyder (or is it RS61?).

Sean you had it right as far as Porsche presence was concerned. Compared with pre-show publicity a single stand in Hall 2 with pair of 956s doth not a 956 30th anniversary celebration make! Yes 908 there too and a 962 but to talk of the show being dedicated to Porsche this year is a misrepresentation (on the way in you were faced with a pair of MGs).

I enjoyed the 4 hours spent there but had seen pretty much everything by then, including catching up with my TIPEC mates! The £25 was only average value because my younger boy had free entry. If I'd been by myself would have felt very short changed. Isn't a ticket for the vast NEC show on the door about £20, and you need a couple of days to do justice to it? Oh and they wanted to charge another £1.50 if I wanted to use a debit card to pay - this kind of sharp practice screwing cash out of the public at every opportunity by organisers really annoys me. I paid cash but not everyone would have had enough on them to have the choice.

Oh the £10 for Lester to have thrills in a Westfield was pretty good value!

Interestingly was chatting to the AutoItalia organisers on the Brooklands stand, who were wondering what level of interest they'd be in a dedicated public Porsche event at Brooklands.

I wonder if with the boom in interest in historic events whether people are now trying to cash in without making much effort?

Anyway here are some more photos - just taken on phone so not a patch on Lindsay's!

I decided to go along to this yesterday for the first time, good publicity of the event, shame about it being a bit expensive for what was there, and i felt that it was a little disorganised. First thing i came across was the rally stage and had to detour quite a way to get round it, no directions to exhibition halls, hardly anyone/ where to get a show guide either, which was probably another fiver anyway.
I must say though, thoroughly enjoyed watching and tacking pics of the rally cars pootleing about outside ( :bounce: especcially the Quattro's  ). Quite intruieged by the Metro 6R4 with the Honda engine conversion though and almost passed out from exhaust fumes while standing behind a mk2 escort waiting to go out  .
Anyway, i'm not sure if its worth going again next year?

I went on Saturday, shame I didn't see any of you. I spent a long time in hall 2 talking to Northampton Motorsport and a company who were showing additive layer manufacturing - my son is a design engineering apprentice and this is one of his pet topics. Like most of you I didn't see many Porsche's and I'm surprised there was no contact with the owners clubs to go along. I enjoyed the rally stage, we don't see the 80's cars run these days and there are obviously limits for spectator stages.

When I get chance to upload them I'll share some pictures.
