WEDNESDAY 4th February 2012
TIPEC SCOTLAND MINUTES
Stewart Gordon welcomed all to tonight’s meeting, 13 bodies and 4porkers in the car park. Most of the Porker’s tucked up from the cold and salty roads.

A warm welcome to new member Andrew Gallagher and his 1991 944s2 in Guards red. Welcome to the Scottish region Andrew.

Tonight’s main topic is the news that Stewart Gordon the RO for Scotland is standing down after 13 years at the helm ladies and gentlemen. Stewart had indicated at the end of last year that this would be the case. Stewart over his time as RO has done an enormous job to get the region to where it is today, all those years ago only 6 or so members and in recent times touching a 100 members or there about. That in it’s self tells you volumes of how dedicated he was and not to forget passionate to the region and to be consistent all those years in terms of success and driving the Scottish region on from strength to strength.
Now Stewart tells us he is only standing down and not leaving the club in fact I hear him muttering recently about a new 944 project, now that sounds typical of Stewart and I would not have it any other way truth be told. Well Stewart a big thank you from myself and many others out there for leaving and handing over to myself a very warm and welcoming club that I am proud to take over from having been voted and approved as the new RO for Scotland. It will be a very strange sight to see you sitting in the back ground listening to Alan and myself prattle on what the up and coming events etc are to be for the region.( mind you others may get a word in now lol) And on a more positive note your phone bill will be dramatically reduced and no one on this earth could chat on the phone for hours like you do Stewart!!!!!

Well done Stewart and keep us up to date with your new project I am sure it is not far away!!!!

Next on the agenda was the events etc for the forth coming season. We have had many fantastic suggestions folk’s and we are as we speak putting a diary of events for the summer etc and will be soon completed for all members to digest. A real mixture of suggestions from track night’s to pub runs etc. Those of you who has not yet put forward there suggestions or ideas etc please forward them on to Alan or myself as we are getting close to deciding what and where we are doing this year.
Please remember the TIPEC ANNUAL SHOW will be the 27th May this year so we hope to have a nice squad going down this year as we always do!!

Next up was the Christmas card charity appeal for the guide dogs for the blind. The total at present stands at £95 and anyone wishing to contribute please contact Alan or myself and the presentation which will be made by Stewart and Lynne Gordon will be in due course as a date has not yet been decided.
Staying on the charity theme I myself will be cycling a 100 miles in the Pedal Scotland event on September 9th this year and I am trying to raise £1000 for Cancer Research UK. Both charity’s Guy’s and Doll’s are so worthwhile and the Scottish region has been dedicated in recent years to various charity organisations and I hope that will continue for many years to come. A big thank you to everyone who has contributed over the years and in the future.
