Cheers for the help guys

I bought the 53 relay from design 911 today will try those when they arrive

the issue im having is that i have a new battery and the car will start sometimes fine, but when its left to stand for a while it will just turn over and over and eventually drain the battery

There is a lot of power as it will turn for a while, but a soon as i hook a bettery up from another car via jump leads it will fire on a couple of turns, maybe its not having enough charge in the battery, as it isnt being driven at the moment.

But i thought i would change the relays just as a precaution

Sounds like you need to keep the car/battery on a trickle charger to keep it maxed up...))

Thats what I do.Starts first time every time then. This cold weather can soon drag down a perfectly good battery if its not used regularly. :(

See Post on condition charging viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12038

I purchased a Carcoon Automatic Battery Maintainer & Charger (& Regulated DC Power supply for DC ventilation fans) in Feb 2005 as I was having problems starting my 2.7 944 if it hadn't been out for a couple of weeks in the winter!

I have used it since then on 2 subsequent 944's an S2 Cab and my current 944 Turbo.

It has been an absolute godsend. It is supplied with a set of leads with a quickly detachable plug and a set of leads with plain crock clips. I have had no problems with the unit or any problems starting the cars, wouldn't be without one now and would certainly recommend this product. :)
