Hello,

My dad is selling his blue S4 which is in lovely condition. He has looked after it and it has all of the history. I think it is a 1989 model and it is only driven rarely as a pleasure. Unfortunately my dad needs to get something more practical now and thus it is up for sale. It has 120k mileage is in pristine resplendent blue and is looking for a loving new home. He is asking in the region of 6500GBP. Anyone out there interested. Photos and details can be forwarded by my dad and I will try and put more details up but he has only decided to sell it today. Garaged in Kent.

You NEED to put the pictures on here, otherwise you are wasting your time, people wont bother emailing for pictures when there are many others on Ebay etc.... and unfortunately I doubt he will get that price in the current climate, unless its stunning....which is back to where we started...pictures , spec etc on here...

Thanks for the comments and it is a bit daft not putting pictures up. I am hoping to get them up this weekend when my mum emails them to me. In terms of the price what would you say is the price range at the moment. I suppose there is a point at which it just isn't worth selling the car though I know he wants to see it go. Wish I had the money I would have it in a shot.

Anyway fingers crossed i'll have the photos up by Monday.

It is impossible to give idea of price without pictures and fuller description, but I can say the £5900 seems very optimistic.

Basing this on the market - I was astonished that a lovely GT which has been kept in excellent condition by a 928 list member (real enthusiasts for the car) and had all the big jobs done by Paul Anderson failed to attract any interest on eBay this week at £7,500. The GTs usually command a big premium over S4s as much rarer.

I would guess at a price IF in average condition of around £4000 to maybe £5000 ...

Depending on pictures..lets say its in excellent condition, then I would guess maybe, just maybe £5000 to £6000....

The car may well be worth a lot more than that, but the market for any V8 is awful at the moment and a 928 is rather specialised

Here are some photos . . . taken ages, but thanks for all the comments so far. Well I just don't know what to say re price . . . I actually think someone could make my father an offer as there really isn't any point in him keeping it although I really can't imagine him going below 4500GBP. I'll try and put some more photos up now.

Looks a nice original, unmolested example but the pics give only barest impression - need good resolution in better light.

Oh and the passenger footwell light isn't working!

Ok i'll try and put some better pics up this week. Lots of enquiries now though which is good, mainly from Autotrader strangely enough.

It is indeed good, after all the work I've done on it. I was getting ready to take it to Monaco for the F1 in May, but I've bought 996 turbo and think it will be going. I've had 2 weekend cars fir the last few years, and sold the 944 to make way for the 996, but SWMBO has started to question the justification for 2 Porshces and a brand new Insignia? I see her point, as the 928 is not getting the attention she deserves.

I don't know how much it is worth, but I know I'll be sad to see it go. On the other hand, I need to be realistic about the price and price it accordingly. Mechanically it's good and I would have no hesitation taking it to Europe now, however there are a few cosmetics needed to finish it of. A respray of the front wings, petrol flap and front and rear PU ( was quoted £1500 from the guy who re-sprayed Steve Taylors GTS ). The interior is good, without and rips or tears, but it needs the leather re-coloured back to linen.

I've re-taxed it for 6 months today, so I need to do something soon.

Lovely looking s4 mate, no wonder your Dad will be sorry to see it go.

Wish i was in a position to buy right now.
