hi all and greetings from chester! i've just joined this club and forum after 6 years away from the porsche scene, and just today paid a deposit on a tidy low mileage silver 1987 944 which i will take ownership of next week :D

my terrible confession is that i am a fan of automatics, so this will be the third porsche i've owned, and they've all been auto's....

i had a guards red 1988 944 auto 6 years ago, which i renovated and then exchanged for a blue 1990 928...however we then had children so the 928 had to go as the baby seats wouldn't fit in! oddly, the baby seats had fitted in the 944 just fine...

however 5 years later the kids are older and i can now dubiously justify to my other half that they will fit in, so i've managed to get my own way and get back into 944 auto motoring.

anyway hello, and i hope i am not the only one with a penchant for an auto box in the 944!

Hi Duncs. Welcome to the club. I'm also a fan of autos had 3 or 4 brand new ones back in the 80's. I bought a manual 944S2 18 mionths ago. There wasn't any decent looking autos around the time and very few since. :)

Did your one come from Sussex btw...
