Hi all, I have a fuel gauge problem, it never gets above half full even after I have fill it up. I have changed the fuel sender but is it just the same. Any ideas on what the problem/solutions might be?

Hi Gary,

I have exactly the same problem on my 68 with the exception that it gets to 3/4 full. I've also replaced the sender unit without any success.

If anyone knows the solution I'd be interested in hearing too.

All the best,

If its not the sender, it has to be the fuel gauge or wiring. See if you are gettign 12 volts at the sender.

It is generally the gauge & the vast majority seem to do it! Mine only goes to 3/4 when brimmed & sits at a 1/4 when on fumes. I just go by the trip.
