brake caliper refurb
hi,i have removed the brake calipers from my 964 and hoping to refurbish , can the calipers be powder coated without causing any damage caused by the heat as its baked in oven (is the bore of the caliper coated) or have them sprayed if so what paint should i use any info will be welcome .johnno

you can paint your calipers, i did it with heat resistant paint and they looked good for a couple of years. tho if money is no object check out porsche calipers.co.uk they do exchange reconditioned calipers that look like new.
Now i am re-building the calipers myself and this time i am having them vapour blasted then powder coated, i am leaving the pistons in but fixing a cover over them for coating then fitting new seals.
It may be easier to just by the recon units, but i'm tight!
