Has anyone checked out the 928 motorsports page on facebook. They've cracked 216 mph in their 928 on the Bonneville salt flats. Check it out. One serious piece of kit, something like 750 bhp at the wheels. They said they could go faster but had problems with traction / down force, wheel spin at 200 mph!!!!!

They raced the same car at Pikes Peak a couple of years back. It looked a bit different then but posted a very respectable time. =)

Hi All :)

I am here lol, I have spoken to Carl a fair amount about this run and said that he must have balls of steel lol....

This is the video link to the actual 216 mph run....the wheelspin at over 200 is a little scary...

Grrrr the video wont embed (Jim ?)

Agreed, the wheelspin does sound scary but overall it seems to be driving relatively smoothly, the steering wheel seems quite steady and the driver seems quite relaxed.I wonder why they chose a manual box car for this? The aerodynamics seem to be well sorted, hence the pretty smooth drive I guess! :D
