Boxster GT3 BBS wheels on a 944 s2 convertible

Post by mr2haz »

I really like the look of the 18" Boxster GT3 BBS wheels and wanted to know if they fit the 944 s2 convertible?

Is there any precautions to take? As anyone else gone for the same combo, pics please

I've resurrected a picture of my old car for you to look at, she did look good on those rims.

The handling was compromised a little, the car could be driven much quicker on stock wheels

Are the 7mm spacers for the rear only?

Yup, the offset of the front wheels was within a couple of mm as stock the rears from memory had an offset which was higher than stock so needed the spacers to bring them out a little.

Not sure if the Boxster rims are the same offset as the 911, it's worth checking.

I too have been looking at GT3 alloys and I am watching 3 or 4 sets on Ebay they look great but I have some concerns!

I know lots of people fit larger wheels but I seem to remember seeing a Porsche safety bulletin stating that fitting 18" wheels can cause catastrofic suspension failure .....due I guess to the reduced tyre profile not absorbing the load!

Sean post worries me if handling is compromised I will not do it...unless there are other suspension mods that need to be done to "correctly" fit these? what effect does it have on the speedo? and the mileometer?.
