Got in the 944 this morning having not driven it for 5 days.

Let the car warm up for 3-4minutes and then drove off. 5-10 meters after setting off, I hear a weird clunky sound. It sounded like it came from underneath my seat.

I have heard this a couple of times in the past but it sometimes happens a little later in the journey.

Not sure what it could be. Any idea's? (Handbrake was def all the way down.)

In any journey, it has only ever happened once. But it doesn't happen in every journey.

Handbrake sticking on. Even though the lever is down it may not necessarily release the shoes. One clunk could be the shoes releasing.

Both my 924 and my 968 make this sound when moving off.

I can't explain it, because I can't think what the two cars might have in common down there... :?

Nothing to worry about, in any case.

Mine never made that sound  Servicing the handbrake would be a place to start. I never use the thing as there a lousy design. Just leave it in gear on the flat. Only good for hill starts & the MOT! After that suspension bushes favorite.
