Hmmm I can't help but might be interested in the feedback.
After hammering mine the engine tries to stall all the time but only after I have turned her off and then on again (Say for a pee break).
After an spin on the open road she runs fine again.

On the 924, the resistor for the cooling fan was up behind the glove box, but I've just had a look there on my 968 and didn;t find anything there; bit dark mind...

The resistor on the s2 is on the drivers side, under the dash. Its right at the top, a pain to access & looks like a pair of doughnuts. I'm not sure they are related to the fault but its certainly worth cleaning the contacts, they are bound to be a bit green.

eta: its also worth cleaning the fan earth - its located at the passenger side front of the engine bay, possibly on the chassis leg. There may be some other earths that share the same stud.

hello all i was barking up the wrong tree, s2 cabs. do not have resistors, fan speed is determined by big silver relay, specialist found aftermarket radio and blue tooth phone systems fitted are causing probs. looked under the fuse and relay box mmmmmmmmmm bit of a mess, i think my newspaper boy would have made a better job, wiring live was fed from relay base that also fed fans plus all other wiring striped back, wound around each other and then taped up, yuk. Any way car runs ok on 1 fan passenger side withno problems but will look at chopping out unnecessary wrining later thanks all for help and beware who you get to fit radio's etc.
